Nine Year Old Learns Lesson in Generosity

We’re accepting incredible stories from the streets! Here is one from Grace…

Grace, spent the afternoon of her 9th birthday playing her violin on a street corner in Marda Loop. Through the generosity of passersby, Grace raised $320.63 for the Canadian Red Cross in just under two hours. The eagerness to give was unbelievable, people were waving money out of their car windows, others would walk by and then come back a few minutes later, saying they went to the bank to get money so they could donate. One fellow came back twice to donate, bringing his wife the second time, who also donated. Grace has numerous schoolmates whose homes have been damaged by the floods, and was thrilled the money she raised would go to help people like her friends. There may have been no school that day, but my daughter learned an amazing lesson the afternoon of June 24, 2013

Free Hugs For The East Village!

We don’t know when we’ll need you to volunteer for our community, but we will.
We don’t know when we’ll be able to collect donations for our residents, but we will.
We will need care packages, welcome home kits and plenty of man power to assemble them.
We are still under evacuation, we still do not have electricity, nor do we know when our residents will be able to return.
For those of you wondering how you can help, What we DO need from you right now are HUGS!
PLEASE write letters, cards, paint pictures and drop a sweet little “hug” into the mail that we can give to our 1200+ East Village residents, many of whom are seniors, when they return.
Let them know you’re thinking about them, sending them well wishes and that they are missed.
Help impacted flood victims, have you children, your school, church & community groups, and friends & family from all over the world send our seniors some hugs.
We will be collecting these cards and thoughtful notes and distributing them in our care packages when our residents are able to return to their homes.
Please send to:

Helping Flooded Businesses In Calgary

A message from Michael Flewitt, President, Cloverhitch Technologies.

Turnover Manager would like to offer our services to all those affected by the recent Alberta floods. Turnover Manager is a property auditing tool that will let you audit the damages to your property, track the repairs and log the receipts and paperwork with the report. It’s a property auditing system with a cloud based management centre and a tablet inspection tool that will store your reports for dealing with insurance, government or contractors. The system is geared for property managers but can be quite beneficial to anyone with property that has been affected.

We’ll award you 10 free credits, which will be enough to record the property condition and track the repairs. We hope that this service can help ease the process of getting property and lives back to normal after this disaster. Sign up for our service at http://turnovermanager.com/register.php and enter ‘Alberta flood’ in the promotional code.

Turnover Manager is brought to you by Cloverhitch Technologies and Mobile Property Management. As we’re re-purposing the tool it may take a day or two for your credits to show, but the two week trial will cover you in the meantime.

Cloverhitch Technologies is located at 1929 10 Ave SW Calgary. Check out their website or give them a call at (403) 607-0875 for more details on this offer.
