This volunteer opportunity is for adults only — no children, please, given the nature of the work required.

Additional details:

  • The volunteer work includes sorting donations (biggest need); and sorting food and making food hampers.
  • Please bring your own snacks and drinking water.

Special requests: Siksika Nation is in particular need of volunteers trained in food preparation. Please let us know via the comments box on the sign up sheet if you possess any food preparation training.

Siksika Nation is also in need of volunteers with training in and/or experience with mold remediation, or other training related to effectively cleaning seriously flood-damaged homes.

There may also be contamination issues. If you are trained in this area, please let us know via the comments box on the sign up form.

Cleaning of homes is scheduled to start sometime next week.

If you have items you can donate, please bring the following with you:

  • camping equipment, especially larger 6-8 man tents and generators.
  • gift cards
  • non perishable food
  • water
  • cleaning supplies

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Even though people register with YYCHelps, they still need to register onsite with the Nation. Canada Bridges is just working with the Nation to support the people interested in volunteering.
  • Volunteers will have to check-out as well for security and safety of volunteers onsite.
  • For any questions please contact the call centre at Siksika Nation: 403-734-5315 or 403-734-5396.
  • There is a June 28 update directly from Canada Bridges here

While you can signup with YYCHelps so we know when we have enough volunteers, DO NOT WAIT TO BE CONTACTED. Go straight to the address listed above in time for your shift.

Please sign up here for this volunteer opportunity.
